For us, natural-based is about developing effective solutions that reduce reliance on unnecessary harsh chemistry while still accomplishing the job they were designed to do.

What are probiotics?
Probiotics are beneficial microorganisms.
In our probiotic cleaning applications, these beneficial bacteria naturally produce enzymes that can help break down organic matter such as:
- Food residue
- Grease and oils
- Organic buildup
- Odor-causing materials
- Certain organic stains
That's what makes probiotic cleaning different: the biological process can continue after the initial cleaning application while conditions support probiotic activity.
How long can probiotics continue working?
Probiotic activity depends on environmental conditions and the availability of organic matter.
Testing conducted through UMass TURI demonstrated activity for up to 96 hours when an organic food source was present.
Rather than thinking of probiotics as working for a guaranteed amount of time in every situation, the important distinction is that beneficial microorganisms can continue producing enzymes after application while conditions support their activity.
Do probiotic cleaners replace disinfectants?
No. Cleaning and disinfecting serve different purposes.
Routine cleaning removes dirt, organic matter, and many microorganisms from surfaces. Disinfectants are designed to kill specified microorganisms when used according to their label directions.
Our philosophy for everyday cleaning is:
Clean first. Disinfect when there is a clear reason to do so.
Culleoka probiotic cleaners are designed for cleaning and organic-matter removal. They do not replace a registered disinfectant when disinfection is required because of illness, bodily-fluid contamination, regulatory requirements, or another specific circumstance.

Do Culleoka products contain bleach, ammonia, or chlorine?
Culleoka focuses on natural-based solutions designed to reduce reliance on many of the harsher ingredients traditionally associated with conventional cleaning.

Do your scented products contain essential oils?

What surfaces can I use Natural Based Cleaner on?
Natural Based Cleaner is designed for a wide variety of everyday cleaning applications, including many countertops, floors, bathrooms, carpet and upholstery applications, laundry, pet areas, and vehicle interiors.
Surface materials and finishes vary, so always follow product directions and test specialty or unfamiliar surfaces in an inconspicuous area first.

Can I use Culleoka products with other cleaners?
Avoid mixing cleaning products unless the product directions specifically instruct you to do so.
For probiotic products in particular, avoid immediately following treatment with bleach, disinfectants, or antibacterial products because they may reduce probiotic activity.

Why is dwell time important?
Cleaning ingredients need time to interact with soil and buildup.
Allowing the recommended dwell time can help loosen or break down material before wiping, agitating, or rinsing.
For probiotic products, beneficial microorganisms and the enzymes they produce can continue interacting with compatible organic matter beyond the initial application.

Why does consistent cleaning matter?
