Are Culleoka products safe around children and pets?

Yes.

When used as directed, our products are formulated as safer alternatives to many conventional cleaners. Always store products safely and avoid direct contact with your eyes.

Do probiotic cleaners replace disinfectants?

We believe disinfectants are among the most overused products in modern cleaning.

Cleaning and disinfecting are not the same. The purpose of cleaning is to remove dirt, organic matter, and many of the microorganisms that are present on a surface. The purpose of a disinfectant is to kill specific microorganisms—but only when used according to its label directions and when disinfection is actually needed.

For routine daily cleaning, our philosophy is simple: clean instead of disinfect whenever practical.

The CDC recognizes that cleaning physically removes dirt and many germs from surfaces, reducing the risk of spreading infection. In many everyday environments, thorough cleaning is sufficient to maintain a healthy space without the routine use of disinfectants.

We believe disinfectants should be reserved for situations where there is a legitimate need—such as exposure to certain infectious diseases, bodily fluids, or where regulations specifically require their use—not as the default solution for every countertop, desk, floor, or doorknob.

Our probiotic cleaners don't "replace" disinfectants in those limited situations. Instead, they offer a better approach for everyday cleaning by naturally breaking down organic matter, continuously cleaning after application, and reducing reliance on harsher chemistry when it provides little or no additional benefit.

Our philosophy is this: Clean first. Disinfect only when there is a clear reason to do so.

What are probiotics?

Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that naturally produce enzymes.

How long do probiotics continue working?

Laboratory testing conducted through UMass TURI demonstrated probiotic activity for up to 96 hours when an organic food source was present.

Do your products contain bleach, ammonia, chlorine, or harsh solvents?

No.

Our products are formulated without bleach, ammonia, chlorine, or many of the harsh chemicals commonly found in conventional cleaning products.

Do your scented products contain essential oils?

Yes.

Our scented formulas utilize essential oils, including Lavender & Chamomile and Lemongrass Citrus.

What surfaces can I use Natural Based Cleaner on?

Natural Based Cleaner may be used on many household and commercial surfaces, including countertops, bathrooms, hardwood floors, tile, furniture, carpet, upholstery, pet areas, laundry, and vehicle interiors.

Always test specialty surfaces first.

Can I use your products with other cleaners?

For best probiotic performance, avoid immediately following treatment with bleach, disinfectants, or antibacterial cleaners, as these may reduce probiotic activity.

Can I use your products in septic systems?

Yes.

Why is dwell time important?

Allowing the product to remain on the surface gives the cleaning ingredients and probiotics time to break down organic matter more effectively.
